The WFCU
Difference
Local, trustworthy service. Lancaster County has witnessed many bank openings, closings, and mergers. Through it all, Wheatland has been serving the needs of our community since 1936.
Why Credit Unions
As not-for-profit organizations, credit unions are owned and controlled by their members. That means profits made by credit unions are returned to members in the form of reduced fees, higher savings rates, and lower loan rates.

Our Community
At WFCU we’ve always believed that being a good neighbor means more than just managing money. From local classrooms to community events, we’re dedicated to helping our neighbors thrive.
- Small Business Owners: Our diverse membership includes local entrepreneurs, from tax pros to pet sitters, making our credit union a great place to network and find trusted services right in your community.
- Volunteer Board of Directors: Instead of distant shareholders, we’re guided by a volunteer Board of members elected by our community. It’s local leadership you can trust to keep our credit union strong.
- Hempfield High School: From our in-school branch to financial literacy programs like the Reality Fair, we invest in providing opportunities for students, staff, and families in our local school community.
- Sponsored Charities and Community Events: We believe in the power of giving back. Each year, we select local non-profits and community organizations to provide the funding and support they need to tackle the issues that matter most to our members and their families.
- Shared Branching through the CO-OP Network: Thanks to our CO-OP Network partnership, members can visit shared branches across the country to deposit, withdraw, and manage money while keeping their local account with us.
